Abstract

This is hospital based prospective study done at Department Of Ophthalmology,LLRM,Meerut.Total 75 patients,divided into 3 groups(25each)Group1deep physiological cupping with normal IOP and no VF loss.Group2Pathological cupping.Group3normal Subjects.
To compare optic disc cupping& RNFL Thickness of patients of physiological& pathological cupping with normal subjects.All subjects fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria, underwent detailed ophthalmic examination &evaluation of Optic Disc &RNFL thickness in all quadrants using SD-OCT.
As assessed in our study, there is no significant difference(p=0.57)in RNFL thickness between group1&3 but significant difference is noted (p<0.05)in CDR b/w 2 groups. Likewise, on comparison of group2&3 , significant difference in both CDR & RNFL thickness(p=0.0001)is noted.We conclude that Glaucoma like discs can be both physiological &pathological but physiological discs are normal &need not be treated Whereas pathological discs need to be treated
