Abstract

Purpose: Describing presentations and outcomes of six pyomyositis patients which is less reported in literature.

Methodology: Retrospective analysis of 6 pyomyositis patients was done. On the basis of clinical presentation and imaging findings, diagnosis was made. Incision drainage was done according to severity of presentation and microbiological profile and sensitivity of organism was recorded. Final outcome was noted.

Results: Out of 6 ,4 male adults and 2 female child. Imaging showed rim enhancement of hypodense area except in early pyomyositis. Microbiology was staphylococcus aureus in most. some had atypical findings. All of them had complete recovery.
