Abstract
Study Design – Retrospective,
Purpose – To evaluate the Prevalance and pattern of Tuberculous Uveitis in Tertiary hospital
Methods — Profile ,Ocular manifestation and history of tuberculosis contact were noted
Routine Lab workup included CBC ESR Mantoux skin test and urinanalysis
In cases of diagnostic dilemma intraocular fluid examination for PCR and antibody titre help
Results 40 eyes of 25 pts were analysed age range was 6 to 62 yrs , Bilateral in 17 pts and unilateral in 08 pts
17 pts (68.7%) pt had no prior history of Tuberculosis and 08 pts (31.3%) had prior history of systemic tuberculosis
Conclusion Ocular tuberculosis is a mysterious condition with awide range of clinical presentation and should be considered in any unexplained reduction in vision. A high index of suspicion help diagnose ocular tuberculosis and recognition of correct diagnosis and specific therapy is mandatory
