Abstract

Study Design: Prospective ,obesevational. Purpose: To compare various outcome parameters who undergo cataract surgery using Active Sentry&Centurion Ozil handpiece. Mateial & Method: A Hospital-based, prospective nonrandomized comparative and observational study was carried out in 138 cataracts patients from April 22 to May .We operated with Active Sentry &Centurion Ozil handpiece with preset IOP of 30mmg in different grades of cataract with same parameters. Data were analysed. Results: When we compared two groups, found no statistically significant difference in mean CDE & aspiration time. The difference between the estimated consumed fluid was statistically significant. Active sentry handpiece consumes more fluid for soft cataracts.ASM was more activated for soft cataracts.CONCLUSION: Active Fluidics with both handpieces at low preset IOP allows to complete the surgery with low parameters in all cases with comfort.Active Sentry has advantage in soft cataracts by-reducing surge.
