FP0348 : Trash to technological triumph:INDiGO-Universal slit lamp-mounted Indentation Gonioscopy Photography

Abstract

Slit-lamp gonioscopy has long been a cornerstone for examining anterior chamber angles and diagnosing conditions in cases of glaucoma to detect angle closure, secondary causes of raised IOP, neovascularization of angle, angle recession, angle tumors and foreign bodies. However, the conventional approach for gonio photography is a demanding procedure requiring juggling a gonioscope in one hand and a smartphone in the other. Here, authors describe a novel technique of performing gonioscopy and goniophotography with a universal slit-lamp-mounted gonioscope , practically made from trash. Captured images can be sent for digital analysis across the world. Not only does this approach enhance examination efficiency, but it also fosters sustainability in ophthalmic diagnostics.
Prospective study performed to evaluate efficacy of INDiGO in resource constrained settings prior to and post use of this novel technique. It had reduced the referral load by 23.55% contrary to the previous ones.
