FP0331 : Tuberculosis in Orbit and Adnexa – A case series from Tertiary eye care center in South India.

Abstract

Purpose :
To describe various clinical presentations, Pathological, Microbiological and Radiological findings of Orbit and Adnexal Tuberculosis Presented to our center
Study Design:
Retrospective study
Methods :
A Retrospective analysis of five patients presented to our tertiary care center, diagnosed with orbital and adnexal Tuberculosis based on Clinical Presentation, Radiological Findings ,Microbiological and Histopathological Examination between 2021 and 2023 was performed. Out of these five patients, 3 patients were Male,2 patients were Female. Various presentation includes Tubercular Dacryoadenitis(2 patients ),Ocular Adnexal tuberculosis (2 patients),Tubercular Osteomyelitis (1 patient).All these patients were treated with Antitubercular therapy.(ATT)
Conclusion :
Though uncommon ,Tuberculosis should be considered as differential diagnosis in orbit and Adnexal swellings ,especially in endemic country like India.
