Abstract

PURPOSE: To report a rare case of Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia
METHODS: A 65 year old male patient reported to the OPD with swelling, redness and loss of vision in right eye since 1 year. O/E-large fungating mass involving the anterior ocular surface with anterior orbital extension was seen. It was covered with thick black necrotic tissue protruding out of the right orbital cavity sparing both eyelids.VA OD: No PL. Left eye examination was normal. MRI studies showed features suggesting of neoplastic lesion of malignant phenotype with local invasion .Blood investigations were normal
RESULTS: As it was an extensive ocular surface squamous neoplasia with anterior orbital involvement, lid sparing exenteration was performed, histopathologic features were consistent with clinical diagnosis.
CONCLUSION: The Present case had aggressive disease with orbital involvement mandating exenteration to halt the disease progression and thus reducing mortality in the patient.
