Study design: Case report
Purpose:It’s a rare presentation that ipsilateral advanced glaucoma with unilateral congenital ectropion uveae and plexiform neurofibroma in a 7year old child having Neurofibramatosis 1.We describe the unique presentation and comprehensive glaucoma evaluation was crucial.
Methods:This study examined the record of one child with drooping of lid including detailed history, systemic examination,clinical examination,gonioscopy,Fundus examination,neuroimaging and surgical procedure.
Results:A 7 year old child was brought by the parents noticing progressive drooping of right eye lid since 10 months.Features of Neurofibromatosis with advanced glaucoma was present.MRI revealed optic nerve plexiform neurofibroma .Orbital debulking done on right side and Iop stabilised and mechanical ptosis is corrected.
Conclusion:This case highlights that a full pledged glaucoma evaluation supplemented with neuroimaging helped in diagnosing and managing the child accordingly.
