FP3004 : Comparison of functional outcomes between FLACS and MICS in post radial keratotomy cataract.

Abstract

This retrospective observational study comprised 70 post-radial keratotomy eyes, that had undergone cataract surgery by FLACS or conventional phacoemulsification surgery during the last 5 years. Of these, 38 eyes were subjected to FLACS with Toric IOL implantation. Preoperative astigmatism ranged from +/- 2 D to 5.50 D in both groups. The modified true net formula was used in the IOL master for IOL power calculation. The follow-up period ranged from 6 months to 2 years. Incomplete rhexis and inadequate nucleotomy in two cases each and opening of RK incision in three cases were noted intra-op constraints. Unaided Post op visual acuity ranged from 6/12 to 6/9. The residual astigmatism ranged from plus /minus 0.75 to 1.75 Diopter. Effective modulation of energy settings can minimize the occurrence of incomplete Laser penetration due to post-corneal scar. FLACS link AS-OCT led to precision in the incision, rhexis, and nucletomy in such cases.
