Abstract
The purpose of this prospective study was to study the different causes of secondary glaucomas & to identify their
risk factors.
Materials & methods
All diagnosed cases of secondary glaucoma were included
All cases of primary glaucoma were excluded.
Assessment parameters-VA , IOP, AS, Gonioscopy & fundus evaluation.
Results- Mean age was 52.05 years & the M:F ratio was 9:11.DOV was seen in 85% cases with max no of cases 80% were having VA<1/60.The mean IOP was 38.25mm Hg. Max no of sec glaucomas were Phacomorhic glaucoma 48% followed by Phacolytic glaucoma 23%,Uveitic glaucoma 8%, Axenfiled riegler syndrome 5%, Neovascular glaucoma 5%, Congenital glaucoma 5%, Steroid induced glaucoma 3% & Aqueous misdirection syndrome 3%.
Conclusion
Phacomorphic glaucoma is the most common type of sec glaucoma & identifies cataract & the elderly population as the most common risk factors associated with it. Also, surgical intervention is needed in the majority of cases of sec glaucoma.
