Abstract

STUDY DESIGN: retrospective single centre, single surgeon study PURPOSE: To evaluate the safety, efficacy, and predictability of enhancement surgery after primary LASIK
METHODS: 7 eyes underwent LASIK enhancement and 2 eyes underwent PRK enhancement surgery by a single surgeon at a tertiary eye hospital. Manifest refraction, ocular examination and topography was done. Based on the residual stromal depth, the enhancement surgery was planned.
RESULTS: The mean age of presentation was 25.6 years with mean time interval between primary and enhancement surgery of 3.5 years. 66.67% of the eyes had a best corrected vision of logMAR unit 1.0 and 33.33% had logMAR unit 66.67 vision. No post operative complications were noted with long term stable refraction.
CONCLUSION: We conclude that enhancement surgery either LASIK or PRK after primary LASIK surgery provide favourable outcomes. These are safe and efficient surgical correction options to provide good quality of vision.
