Abstract
Study Design: Cross-sectional study Aim: To correlate OCTA parameters in exudative age related macular degeneration (ExARMD) with serum VEGF A levels. Methods: In a study on 36 eyes of 26 ExARMD patients with mean age of 63.9±7.68 (52-78) years, having bilateral involvement in 10 (27.77%) subjects, serum VEGF A levels were correlated with OCTA parameters. Results: Distance BCVA was logMAR 1.10± 0.55 (0.3-1.77). There was a negative but not significant correlation (P>0.05) between serum VEGF A levels with FAZ area (r=-0.04) and perimeter (r=-0.10) while there was a positive but not significant correlation (P>0.05) with circularity (r=0.44), vessel density (VD) of SCP (r=0.01), deep capillary plexus (r=0.19), outer retina (r=0.14), outer retinal chorio-capillaries (r=0.18), chorio-capillaries (r=0.06) and choroid (r=0.08). Conclusion: In ExARMD, higher serum VEGF A is related to smaller and more circular FAZ and better VD of retino-choroidal layers.
