FP0279 : STUDY COMPARING ANTERIOR CHAMBER ANGLE PARAMETERS BETWEEN DIABETICS AND NON-DIABETICS USING ASOCT

Abstract

Aim- To correlate anterior chamber angle parameters with severity and duration of diabetes in diabetic patients and compare with non-diabetics.Methods- Prospective cross-sectional study with 200 subjects each.Ocular examination and AS-OCT was done.RBS noted.CCT, AOD500 and750, TISA500and750,SSA, LV, angle,ACD and angle to angle distance was noted for analysis using Mann Whitney test.p-value of <0.05 was considered significant.
Results- Mean age was 49.07 years in diabetics and 37.34 years in non-diabetics with male preponderence.CCT increased with increase in severity and duration of diabetes.Except SSA all parameters showed continuous decrease in median values with increase in RBS,duration and severity of diabetes which was statistically significant between the groups.Gonioscopy showed shallower anterior chamber with longer duration and severity of diabetes.Conclusion-Diabetics are at high risk of angle closure and it is associated with the duration, severity and control of diabetes.
