FP2704 : COMPARISON OF 20%AUTOLOGOUS PLATELET RICH PLASMA vsCONVENTIONAL TREATMENT IN MODERATE-SEVERE DRY EYE

Abstract

study design-Prospective interventional comparative studyAIM-To compare efficacy of platelet rich plasma with conventional treatment in patients with moderate-to-severe DED METHOD-30patients of moderate to severe DED were divided into aPRP and CTgroup(15 each). OSDI score, BCVA, Comprehensive eye examination ,Tear meniscus height, TBUT, Schirmer’s test, CFSof both the groups were evaluated and compared pre treatment and post treatment at the end of 3 months. RESULT- The mean age of the aPRP group and CTgroup was 36 ± 18 years and 35±17years, respectively. At the end of 3 months, OSDI score was lesser in the aPRP group as compared to CT group. Post treatment improvement in CFS score, TBUT and schirmer’s score in the aPRP group was higher in the aPRP group as compared to that in the CT group. 1 patient suffered conjunctivitis in aPRP group,excluded from the study,3 patient were lost to follow up in the CT group . Conclusion: aPRP is more effective than CT in treating patients of DED
