FP2670 : A CASE OF MICROSPORIDIAL KERATITIS

Abstract

Study design – Case report
Purpose- To study a case of microsporidial keratitis
Methods-A 26 year old male patient presented to ophthalmology opd with complaints of redness and discharge from both eyes since 4 days. Patient also had fever and cough since 4 days. There is no history of trauma or contact with contaminated water. On ocular examination visual acuity was 6/9 in the both eyes and On slit lamp examination, circumcorneal congestion and multiple white subepithelial lesions with stuck on appearance seen all over both corneas. The underlying stroma and endothelium were normal. No anterior chamber reaction. Moxifloxacin 0.5% eye drops and and 0.5% CMC were given hourly.Antihistamines, antipyretics and mucolytics were given for cough and fever. CBC were within normal limit and viral markers were negative.
Results- after 5 days circumcorneal congestion and subepithelial infiltrate reduced.
Conclusion-Fluoroquinolone monotherapy showed good response after 5 days.
