Abstract

Study Design: Cross-sectional observational. Purpose: To correlate the average mGCC thickness with BCVA, VFI, PSD in patients of papilledema secondary to IIH. Methods:68 patients diagnosed with IIH on treatment with Tab. Acetazolamide in 1 year. HVF 30-2 was performed in both eyes with measurements of Avg mGCC thickness by OCTOptovue Results: 20.8% of patients with IIH had significant mGCC thinning below 85μ. 11.76%patients had a decrease in BCVA to an average of 6/12 in both eyes with mGCC thinning. 19.11% patients had a decrease in VFI to an average of 90.73% in the right eye, 67.5% in the left eye with increase in their PSD to an average of 6.74 dB in the right eye, 6.13 dB in the left eye with mGCC thinning. Conclusions: There is significant statistical correlation between average mGCC thickness measurements with BCVA, VFI & PSD with p value of <0.0001 in both eyes. A consistent trend of decreasing BCVA, VFI with increase in PSD with a drop in the average mGCC thickness was seen.
