Abstract
Study Design: Prospective Interventional
Aim: To evaluate OCTA in diabetic macular edema (DME) following ranibizumab biosimilar (RaB) Methods: In a study on 44 eyes of 30 DME patients with mean age of 56±8.6 years, OCTA parameters were examined after intravitreal RaB. Results: OCTA showed features like enlarged/distorted FAZ, reduced vascularity, capillary non-perfusion, and projection artefact from NSD/cystic spaces. The FAZ area, perimeter and circularity were 0.21+-0.2 mm2, 2.44+-1.3 mm and 0.38+-0.1. The vascular density (VD) in SCP was 19.7+-12.7; DCP 5.0+-8.2; outer retina 1.8+-3.9, outer retinal chorio-capillaries 16.5+-14.8; chorio-capillaries 9.1+-11.5; and choroid 20.1+-18.1. Following intravitreal RaB, these changed to 0.17+-0.16 mm2, 2.32+-1.3 mm, and 0.36+-0.1 and 23.62+-17.32, 5.9+-6.9, 2.8+-4.9, 27.14+-6.2, 17.6+-15.6 and 29.0+-17.9 respectively. Conclusion: Intravitreal RaB caused a reduction in FAZ area and perimeter and improvement in FAZ circularity and VD.
