Abstract
A 34 year old female presented with complaint of floatters and blurring of vision , pain , photophobia in both eyes. Ocular examination revealed keratic precipitate on corneal endothelium, cells in anterior chamber(+3), multiple koeppe nodules on pupillary margins, posterior synachae and festooned pupil on dilation in both eyes. Snow ball opacities were seen on fundus examination. Patient had history of similar attacks 4 times in last 5 years. Patient had history of abortion 5 years back and first diagnose with uveitis after that. On workup CBC with differential, complete metabolic panel, Serum ACE , chest x-ray was normal . On evaluation for autoimmune causes RA factor, CRP, HLA-51, HLA-27 were negative. Additional workup for other infectious causes of intermediate uveitis was negative, including toxoplasma, syphilis, TB. Patient have positive serum Rubella IgG(317IU/ml) & CMV IgG(173IU/ml). High titre and history of abortion strongly indicating towards Rubella and CMV as cause.
