FP2340 : Comprehensive review and clinical analysis of Tersons syndrome

Abstract

Terson's Syndrome is a rare but significant ocular condition characterized by intraocular hemorrhage associated with intracranial pathologies. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Terson's Syndrome, encompassing its clinical presentation, diagnostic modalities, treatment strategies
Methods:
Prospective study of 5 tersons syndrome cases presented to our tertiary care centre
Diagnosis is primarily clinical, supplemented by imaging modalities such as fundoscopy, optical coherence tomography and CT .
Results:
Treatment strategies vary based on the severity  ranging from conservative management with observation to surgical intervention. Vitrectomy has shown promise in cases with persistent vitreous hemorrhage .
Conclusion: Terson's Syndrome presents a unique clinical challenge, often serving as -an indicator of underlying intracranial pathology.
