Abstract
Purpose: To describe rare presentation of frosted branch angiitis in systemic lupus erythematosus.
Methods: Detailed systemic and ocular examination was performed. Multimodal imaging features were identified.
Results: Optical coherence tomography scan showed the presence of macular oedema along with hyper-reflectivity of inner retinal layers and optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) scan detected the presence of capillary non-perfusion areas on superficial slab suggestive of ischaemia.
Conclusion: The prognosis of frosted branch angiitis is not always favourable. Hence, prompt diagnosis and active intervention are required to prevent ocular complications.
