Abstract
Study Design- Observational, descriptive. Purpose- of this series is to review demographic characteristics, clinical features, and management options of TiAAC. Methods- 9 cases were included. 7 patients were female, and the mean age was 34 ± 8.00 years. The reported indication of TPM use was migraine headache in all patients. The mean duration from starting treatment until the onset of angle closure was 7 to 12 days. Mean IOP was 38 mmHg with 2 lines decrease in visual acuity. Results- All cases were managed by immediate cessation of TPM and initiation of topical AGM’s, steroids and atropine e/o. In addition, systemic medications (carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, hyperosmotic agents) were used in few patients. After commencement of treatment, the mean duration until the resolution of TiAAC was 5 to 9 days. Conclusion- the onset of angle closure following TPM use peaks at 1 week and in most cases, successful management can be achieved by discontinuing TPM and appropriate medical therapy.
