FP0223 : The profile of surgical cases attending minor Operations theater in a tertiary care center

Abstract

Introduction-Ocular morbidity are caused by both visual and non visual pathology .Aim of current current study is to profile of minor Operation cases attending a tertiary care eye hospital.
Study design– hospital based cross sectional
Material and methods-The epidemiological and clinical profile , diagnosis , type of surgery , type of anesthesia etc of the patients attending minor ot of a tertiary care ophthalmology center are recorded and analyzed statistically.
.Result -Of total 3047 ,he commonest procedure is Dacryocystectomy 18.2%, then Dacryocystorhinistomy 14.3% ,corneal tear 13.% ,pterygium 10.9% , chalazion 10.8% , lid repair 9.4%, excision biopsy 8.5% ,tarsoraphy 4.98% , evisceration 3.5%, entropion 3.1% ,enucleation 2.1% , ectropion 0.6%
Conclusion–As most emphasis is given on visual morbidity , non visual morbidity cases are underestimated. Since these cases are large in number , proper protocol is needed for managing such cases
