FP2226 : Extensive peripapillary and macular myopic choroidal cavitations in young myopic eye

Abstract

Myopic choroidal cavitations are 1–2-disc diameter empty spaces seen in high myopes. We observed a case of young high myopic more than 10DD area of choroidal cavitations over posterior pole. Corresponding area showed split in the choroid in OCT and dark empty lobular spaces on indocyanine green angiography confirming choroidal cavitations.
Case is unusual for its extensive nature of choroidal cavitations. The fellow eye shows myopic fundus with normal choroid. The unilaterality in the present case despite of similar axial length and refractive error points to possible role of surgical intervention in the causation of extensive choroidal cavitary abnormalities. .
