Abstract
Introduction – Thyroid eye disease is a common inflammatory orbital condition associated with autoimmune thyroid dysfunction.
Purpose – To observe a case of severe thyroid orbitopathy presented to RIO, GMCH
Methods and materials – A young 25 year old female presented with bilateral exophthalmos, lagophthalmos and exposure keratitis, was diagnosed with severe TAO. CAS 7/7. An aggressive treatment approach comprising of steroids, Rituximab and topical therapy was started.
Conclusion – The case report reviews the pathophysiology, clinical management of this common yet poorly understood disease which remains as a challenge to the ophthalmologist
