Abstract
AIM
Study the profile of cases of scleritis presented to cornea OPD at SDEH
MATERIALS &METHODS
History and ophthalmic examination of scleritis presenting to SDEH, Hyd.
Detailed evaluation of the cases was done by investigations like – ANA,ANCA, CRP, CBC, ESR,HLA B27,RA factor, Lyme serology, ACE, Serum lysozyme, RPR,FTAABS, etc were done and followed
Imaging studies like Bscan, Chest X-ray, MRI, CT scan, UBM, OCT and FFA done to support the diagnosis.
RESULTS
Patients were treated accordingly and followed in regular weekly
CONCLUSION
Scleritis is a rare painful ocular disorder, associated with severe ocular pain and tissue destruction. Majority of these cases are immune mediated and at least half of these are associated with systemic immune-mediated diseases, fewer cases after infective.The two conditions are very similar there are differences.It is necessary to reach a timely diagnosis and adequate treatment Infective cases will get more toxic and bad if steroids are given.
