Abstract
Study design: Retrospective study
Purpose: Structural and functional correlation in cases of serpiginous like choroiditis.
Methods: Eyes with good vision (20/40 or better) treated for SLC included. Optical coherence tomography and angiography, autofluorescence, full field and multifocal ERG (mf-ERG) reviewed.
Results: We included 13 cases (13 eyes), mean age 33 years. Visual acuity at baseline mean LogMAR 0.7 improved to 0.2. Full-field ERG showed either low photopic and scotopic response (n=7) or low amplitude of photopic responses alone (n=5), this correlated with mean quadrants involved. Implicit time reduced in one case. mf-ERG showed global reduced amplitudes with zone of involvement correlating with areas detected on OCTA.
Conclusions: Quality of vision in patients with good vision after complete resolution of tubercular serpiginous like choroiditis is severely affected. mf-ERG can be an important tool to assess functional status of macula after resolution of choroiditis.
