FP2098 : The Study of OCT-Macula in patients with Diabetes mellitus before and after Cataract Surgery

Abstract

We taken 100 subjects (Ages 45-65) for Observation, All of who suffered from Diabetes mellitus amongst which 20 patients had changes of Diabetic Retinopathy and 80 patients had developed no changes of Diabetes retinopathy preoperatively. The purpose of this study is to understand the Retinal/Macular changes if any are brought about in the patients with Diabetes mellitus post cataract Surgery. The results show that there were no significant changes in the macula at 6 weeks post operatively. We conclude that Cataract Surgery neither deteriorated nor improvised the condition of the Retina/macula of patient's with Diabetes mellitus.
