Abstract

Study design:-This is a observational study done in all adult pts with symptomatic epiphora.Purpose:- To find out the scope of mobile endoscope in dacryology.Methods:- mobile endoscope used for screening of nasal evaluation in 31 patients. 13 males & 18 females,mean age was 52 years.Nasal exm. of 25 pts done in OPD & 8 Pts in OT.For therapeutic purpose this endoscope used in 8 patients of failed DCR, 3 males & 5 females.The mean age was 45 years. Result:- In OPD pts with adequate nasal space(n=20) & roomy nose(n=5) able to perform screening by mobile endoscope.All pts with deviated nasal septum(n=8) screening done in OT. Pts with nasal synechiae(n=2) & severe DNS (n=3) not able to perform screening even in OT. Out of 8 pts of failed DCR(n=8), in 3 pts we able to create re-anastamosis.Rest done by tradional endoscope.Conclusion:- Mobile endoscope is best alternative of tradional nasal endoscope for screening & pre-op exm.
