Abstract
A 24 yr male admitted in hospital with history of fever along with bodyache ,malaise and severe body pain from last 5 days. There was no history of skin rash or bleeding from any site.Diagnosed as DENGUE based on clinical feature and blood serology report positive for NS1 antigen.Platelets count: 28000/cumm,Sero negative for HIV, HCV, HBsAg. On ophthalmic examination, there was no perception of light in both eye.Both eyelids were edematous with periocular ecchymosis and severe tense proptosis.Rest details could not be visualized.Extraocular movements were limited in all gazes.B-scan and CT scan suggestive of pre retinal haemorrhage and orbital haemorrhage. Firstly, possible causes of hemorrhage will be reduced platelet count, i.e., thrombocytopenia with coagulation defects, capillary fragility, and platelet dysfunction. Secondly, the result of scleral ischemia secondary to the immune mediated vasculitis or due to coagulopathy associated with dengue hemorrhagic fever
