Study design: Case report
Purpose: To report a case of isolated bulbar conjunctival haemangioma.
Methods: A 11y old male, presented with a reddish, purple mass over LE on temporal bulbar conjunctiva since birth. The mass was painless and slow growing with child c/o foreign body sensation during lid closure. RE examination was WNL. On S/L/E of the LE, a 8x4mm, partially mobile, reddish, fleshy, lobulated lesion with well defined borders was noted 1mm away from the temporal limbus with prominent superior feeder vessels. Rest ocular findings were WNL. There was no h/o any systemic complaints or similar lesions elsewhere on the body on examination.
Result: Child is awaiting excision of lesion with ligation of feeder vessel after clearance for surgery under general anaesthesia.
Conclusion: Haemangiomas are a rare lesion of the bulbar conjunctiva with only approximately 4% incidence amongst all conjunctival neoplasms and need careful examination.
