Abstract
Design: Prospective, Interventional, Longitudinal.
Purpose:There are situations in where multiple injections have to be given in vitreous cavity. The requirement of multiple injections through sclera causes increased pain & is technically difficult due to subconjunctival hemorrhage and rise in intraocular pressure.
METHODS: Consective patients receiving multiple injections through tracer were studied.
RESULTS: N=56.24 in Infectious Endophthalmitis, 09 in subretinal haemorrhage displacement, 12 in pneumatic retinopexy and 07 in posterior uveitis situations.
Assesed in terms of of pain reduction, chemosis reduction and superior maintenance of ocular IOP.
There have been no incidences of any additional side effects associated with trocar placement except increased flocculation of antibiotics vancomycin and ceftazidime which required a small change in technique of insufflation.
