Abstract

Aim:To evaluate the safety&efficacy of Kahook dual blade in reducing IOP&medication burden in glaucomatous patients with/without cataract surgery.Methods:Design-Prospective interventional case series.Clinical data included preoperative & postoperative IOP,number of AGMs,adverse events.Success was defined as ≥ 20% reduction of IOP from baseline & reduction of atleast 1AGM with no additional glaucoma surgery.Results: The cohort included 48 eyes. Average baseline IOP pre operatively was 18.29±6.39 mmHg & reduced significantly 6months post surgery to 15.11 ± 6.45mmHg (p=0.002).The AGMs reduced from 2.75 ±1.65 pre surgery to 0.93 ± 1.31(p value 0.023)at6month follow up.Success rate was 89%(33/37). Reduction in IOP, AGM was -24%,-2±1.69 respectively.Conclusion: This study concludes that goniotomy with KDB has good efficacy & safety in cases of glaucoma in terms of IOP control,reduction in AGMs & low incidence of complications
