Abstract
Study design: Retrospective
Purpose: Single-centre experience with IV BZB 6mg injection for retinal & choroidal indications.
Methods: This study included patients with retinal & choroidal pathologies treated with IV BZB from October 2020-2023. Demographics, treatment indication, response, logMAR VA, CSFT, adverse events were noted.
Results: 813 injections were given in 405 eyes/354 patients. CNVM (n=226) was most common indication followed by DME (n=91). 30% (n=122) were treatment naïve eyes. Mean pre-injection VA was 0.502 ± 0.419, CSFT was 421.4 ± 190.6µ. Most eyes (n=377, 93%) were treated on PRN basis. In 83% (n=677) post-injection followup data was available. Post-treatment VA improved to 0.487 ± 0.421, CSFT reduced by -99.2 ± 158.1µ (p<0.05). Statistically significant resolution in PED, SRF & IRF was noted. 3 eyes (0.37%/eye and 0.74%/injection)developed IOI.
Conclusion: In practice, IV BZB is safe & effective antiVEGF drug in treatment of various retinal & choroidal pathologies.
