Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Microspherophakia is a rare congenital malformation with lens of small equatorial diameter causing lens dislocation,shallow anterior chamber,angle closure glaucoma.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: A 29year old male patient with no known comorbidities came with diminuition of vision in both eyes with best corrected visual acuity of CF 1/2 mts with pinhole no improvement, <N36, Cornea clear,bilateral deep anterior chamber,reactive pupil,inferior subluxated cataractous lens. On fundus examination right eye peripheral glow seen and left eye was within normal limits.
RESULTS: ASOCT showed deep anterior chamber with AC depth of 3.451mm in right eye and 3.369mm in left eye. USG showed small spherical lens suggestive of microspherophakia.
Patient underwent uneventful bilateral lensectomy with SFIOL. Postop fundus was within normal limits.
There were no systemic association or syndromic features
Cardiac evaluation was within normal limits
