Abstract
The study aims to compare the one-year outcomes of TE -ASA (Trans Epithelial Advance Surface Ablation) with FS Laser (Femto Second Laser) for high myopia. In this retrospective study, data were collected from 256 eyes of 135 patients. The two study groups were TE- ASA done with Streamlight (Wavelight) and FS Lasik with the Wavelight Allegretto Laser and iFS 150 made. The two study groups were matched by age, gender, and baseline uncorrected distance visual acuity and refractive astigmatism. The study demonstrates good outcomes of ASA for high myopia. The results are comparable to FS Lasik and are marginally better than FS Lasik. At present the range of ASA is as good as Lasik or SMILE. Being more tissue preserving and better biomechanical safety ASA is has come back in mainstream refractive surgery.
