Abstract
Eye colour variation ranging from darkest shades of brown to lightest tints of blue has long been a subject of interest but somehow eye colour genetics remained a neglected field. Heterochromia iridis is a condition in which the iris of one eye has a color different from that of the other eye or the coloured part of the iris of an eye is composed of different coloured patches. A 20 years old female presented with iris of different colour in same eye since childhood she had no visual symptoms vision (Both eye 6/6 & Colour Vision Normal) or any systemic disease. On local examination A/s and P/s appears to be normal. Interestingly, when her family history was traced it was observed that no other family member in the previous generations either from her paternal side or from her maternal side was showing this kind of heterochromia. She came to our hospital for routine examination and wanted cosmetic correction for the issues. Patient was counseled and was advised colored contact lens use.
