FP1614 : A case of accidental retinal burn while using 1064 nm Q – switched cosmetic Nd – YAG laser.

Abstract

Young dermatologist came to our hospital with complain of sudden loss of vision in right eye after accidental exposure to cosmetic Nd YAG laser while doing facial. On the day of presentation there was dense vitreous hemorrhage. Retina was attached on B scan. After conservative treatment with topical and oral steroid and serial B scan vitreous hemorrhage starts resolving and the vision improved. As the visibility improved retinal burn scar seen near to disc. Epiretinal membrane formed. To conclude we should aware regarding safety profile of cosmetic laser among dermatologists and other ophthalmologists.
