Abstract
Study Design- Prospective Interventional Study
Purpose- To determine the outcomes of Toric IOL in patients with Corneal Ectasia
Methods- 6 patients with visually significant cataract and non-progressive corneal ectasia underwent phaco with implantation of Toric intraocular lens(IOL). Baseline parameters along with the amount and axis of the corneal astigmatism were measured by manual keratometry, topography, Pentacam in all patients.Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), astigmatism, spherical equivalent and complications were recorded for all patients for 3 months.
Results- BCVA increased and astigmatism significantly decreased in all patients 3 months after surgery (P<0.01). Kmean, Kmax axis showed no significant change. No misalignment of the IOL was observed.
Conclusion- The use of toric IOL gave desirable results in the cataract surgery of patients with non-progressive corneal ectasia.
