Abstract
Purpose: This study investigates Nitarsudil's effectiveness in advanced glaucoma patients on maximum medical therapy, unable to consider surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic. Focusing on patients with high cup-disc ratios and unmet IOP targets.
Methods: 30 patients received daily Nitarsudil for six months, with rigorous follow-up.
Results: In two weeks, 28 patients achieved the target IOP. Notably, the target was consistently maintained during the six-month follow-up. Only two patients required medication adjustments to reach the target.
Conclusion: Nitarsudil emerges as a valuable tool for managing advanced glaucoma in patients unable to pursue surgery during exceptional circumstances. Its success in maintaining target IOP levels demonstrates its potential in improving patient outcomes.
