Abstract

A case of 19 year old male patient presented with complaints of chronic headache with no visual complaints, was treated symptomatically at various places and advised CT scan of brain ,which turned out to be normal but patient had no relief from headache. Visual acuity was 6/6 in both the eyes and colour vision was normal. Pupils were normal and equally reactive. Fundoscopy revealed unilateral mild pallor of disc with slightly blurred margins, with no other haemorrhages seen. Further investigation with MRI and MRV of brain revealed multiple cerebral venous sinuses thrombosis(CVST).CVST is a rare and potentially life threatening condition, characterized by the formation of blood clots in the cerebral venous sinuses, which increases intracranial tension leading to papilloedema and other wide range of neurological complications.
