Abstract
Orbital lymphangiomas are rare benign tumors comprised of lymphatic vessels. A 9 year old boy with isolated complaint of redness in right eye. Clinical evaluation revealed mild axial proptosis with extraocular movements and vision unaffected. Anterior and posterior segment of the eye appeared normal except conjunctival congestion and papillae which is treated symptomatically. MRI revealed a lymphangioma involving both extraconal and intraconal compartments. Though the management in this case is largely conservative, timely diagnosis is of utmost importance to impart adequate knowledge about complications associated with it to the parents. Close follow up and timely re imaging with correct clinical decisions will improve the morbidity of the disease. This case highlights the importance of
individualized treatment strategies for orbital lymphangioma and emphasizes the significance of vigilance even in the absence of typical clinical signs or symptoms.
