Abstract
To analyse the demographic data, predisposing risk factors, ulcer characteristics, antibiotic susceptibility, treatment modalities, and outcomes of patients with culture proven Actinomyces Odontolyticus keratitis.
In this retrospective case series, we analysed the electronic medical records of all patients with culture proven Actinomyces Odontolyticus keratitis.
Actinomyces odontolyticus keratitis in 9 patients were identified. Risk factors included trauma, failed graft and irregular ocular surface. The mean ulcer size was 14.55 to 13.99 mm2. Most of them were whitish and had dry looking appearance mimicking fungal ulcer. More than 80% of isolates were sensitive to Amikacin, Ciprofloxacin, Moxifloxacin and Fortified Cefuroxime. 7 cases healed on medical management and 2 cases required surgical intervention
