FP0071 : CAPILLARY FERNING ON FFA:CLINICAL PHENOTYPES AND TREATMENT RESPONSE IN POSTERIOR UVEITIS-CASE SERIES

Abstract

AIM:To evaluate clinical features and therapeutic efficacy of patients with capillary ferning.METHODS: A retrospective analysis of 13 patients of posterior uveitis with capillary ferning in fundus fluorescein angiography was evaluated.Capillary ferning was categorized into peripheral , diffuse with and without involving macula and compared with clinical severity. RESULTS:The mean age was 22.08, with defective vision as common presentation. The most common etiologies were Bechet’s disease(30.7%) and tuberculosis(30.7%).Diffuse ferning involving macula is a predominant finding(38.4%) followed by peripheral ferning(30.7%).80% of patients who had ferning not involving macula had better visual outcome and all patients who had ferning involving macula had poor vision.61.5%received immunosuppressants, among them 87.5%were active and 38.4 % required biologicals, among them 60% of patients showed clinical inactivity. CONCLUSION:Disease severity is more in patients with diffuse capillary ferning.
