FP0831 : OCULAR MORBIDITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH THYROID DYSFUNCTION

Abstract

Study design: Cross sectional observational. Purpose: Analyze the demographics and clinical symptoms of patients with TED along with determining quality of life in affected individuals. Methods: Demographic data was collected. Patients were evaluated for TED as per the Bartley and Gorman criteria. Vision, colour vision, IOP, SLE to look for inflammation. Pupils, optic disc and EOM assessed. Measurements like MRD1, MRD 2, PFH, proptosis and lagophthalmos taken. Objective assessment done using the VISA, CAS and EUGOGO. GO-QOL questionnaires were completed by all patients. Each subscale was graded from 0 to 100. Results: Female preponderance noted with positive correlation with lower socio-eco status and smoking. Staring look was most common presentation. Most common finding was lid retraction followed by proptosis and dry eyes. Increase in severity of the disease caused a higher decrease in QOL. Conclusion: Study throws light on negative impact of TED on the QOL of the patient.
