Abstract
STUDY DESIGN-Case report PURPOSE-Early diagnosis and management of meibomian gland carcinoma is necessary to decrease the mortality and morbidity.METHODS-58 year old female,with watering & itching of RE upper lid with occasional bleeding for 6 months.RE-6/36&LE-PL+ve,RE-upper eyelid-entire length there was loss of lid contour,keratinization,thickening,loss of lashes,necrotic plaques,telengectatic vessels & few bleeders LE-Decompensated cornea.RE upper lid excision biopsy was performed & specimen was sent for histopathology,which revealed meibomian gland carcinoma,upper lid anterior lamellar reconstruction by forehead pedicle graft and posterior lamellar reconstruction with donor sclera was done,as the cilia over the pedicle were touching cornea,two staged reverse cutler beard procedure was performed.RESULT-histopathology showed invasive meibomian gland carcinoma.CONCLUSION-Staged pedicle flap and reverse cutler Beard procedures are useful in the oculoplasty surgeon’s armamentarium.
