FP0289 : Structure–function relationship and diagnostic value of macularGCC measurement by FD-OCT in glaucoma

Abstract

Aim:Evaluate relation between visual function & macular GCC thickness measured by FD-OCT & evaluate diagnostic value of GCC thickness compared to RNFL and macular thickness in detecting early, moderate, & severe glaucomas. Methods:Subjects underwent standard automated perimetry, OCT imaging with ONH mode and GCC mode. Relation between OCT parameters & perimetry indices was evaluated by regression analysis. Diagnostic values of mean RNFL, GCC, and macular thickness were compared with area under the receiver operating characteristic curves. Results: Total of 84 eyes, 42 of each normal and POAG patients were included in study. Compared to linear models, second‐order polynomial models better described relationships between GCC thickness & MD & PSD. Conclusion:Relationship between visual field sensitivity and GCC thickness is best explained by curvilinear function.Macular GCC and RNFL thickness had similar diagnostic values but were better than macular thickness for detecting early glaucoma.
