Abstract
Methods: Retrospective analysis of charts of eyes undergoing Ab-interno Schlemms Canal viscodilation & trabeculotomy with OMNI system between August to December 2022 by a single surgeon for safety & reduction in IOP and medications .
Observations: In the standalone OMNI group (11 Eyes), the mean preoperative IOP was 22±6.70 mmHg. The mean IOP was 15.77 mmHg at 3 months & 17mmHg at 6 months. The mean number of medications reduced from 3.63 to 2 at 3 months and 6 months. One eye failed the procedure and had to undergo Paul's tube at 6 months.
The mean preop IOP in Phaco+Omni group (19 Eyes) was 18.31± 5.57mmHg. The mean IOP was 13.31mmHg at 3 months and 12.81mmHg at 6 months. The mean number of medications reduced from 2.89 to 0 at 3 months and 6 months.
No significant vision threatening complications were observed.
Conclusion. Ab interno Schlemms canal viscodilation & trabeculotomy appears to be safe and effective in reducing IOP & medication load in open angle glaucoma.
