Abstract

Design: Retrospective. Purpose: Evaluate the outcome of the second AGV implant in eyes with failed previous AGV surgery. Methods: 6 eyes of 6 patients with second AGV implantation were enrolled. Surgical success defined as IOP >6 mmHg and ≤21 mmHg, either with no medication (complete) or with medications (qualified). Results: Three eyes had neovascular glaucoma, 2 eyes had post retinal detachment glaucoma, and one had Iridocorneal Endothelial syndrome (ICE). The mean duration of follow up was 29.6 months. The mean IOP and number of Anti Glaucoma medications decreased from 31.7 and 3.2 to 16.2 mmHg and 1.8, respectively. Qualified Surgical success was achieved in all cases. Two eyes received multiple intravitreal anti-VEGF injections for neovascularization. One eye had repeated tube exposure and corneal endothelial decompensation. Conclusion: Repeated AGV implantation seems to be an effective modality of treatment in cases with failed previous AGV surgery with refractory glaucoma.
