Abstract
Penetrating Keratoplasty(PKP) can be highly successful in restoring vision, but not without its challenges.Common post op complication is irregular astigmatism, causing significant visual disturbances like blurred or distorted vision.Methods-Prospective observational study included a total of 13 eyes of 13 patients who underwent PKP & had pathologically dilated pupil who were then taken up for Single-Pass Four-Throw Pupilloplasty(SFT).Ocular exam done with BCVA & Scheimpflug corneal mapping pre & post op.Wavefront error maps data with total optical path difference(OPD), RMS, high orders RMS, astigmatism, coma & spherical aberration were evaluated along with preop & desired postop pupil size.Optical quality summary analyzed using wavefront error(WFE), simulated visual acuity & point spread function.
Results-Postop,all patients showed a significant improvement in parameters of visual quality & wavefront aberrometry.Detailed data for the same will be discussed during the presentation.
