Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is zoonotic disease caused by toxoplasma gonidi. It involves ocular as well as CNS. A 28yr male came to OPD with complains of sudden onset of floaters with blurring of vision in left eye since 1 month. On ocular examination anterior segment shows anterior chamber cells +2 and posterior segments suggestive of vitritis with chorioretinal lesion with atrophic scar giving head light in fog appearance further confirmed on OCT showing elevation of RPE associated with subretinal fluid in macular area. Blood Ivg report are TORCH positive. MRI finding shows hydrocephalous and intracranial calcification. Hence he was diagnosed as acute on chronic onset toxoplasma retinitis. During 4 weeks of treatment inj intravitreal clindamycin(1mg/0.1ml)+ Inj dexamethasone(400mcg /0.1ml)one dose every week. Along with tab clindamycin 300mg TDS and Tab Cotimoxazole(800mg+160mg )BD was given showed improvement in vision and resolution of active lesion ,reduction in size of old scar
